Established by the community in 1977, CHAC is a busy neighbourhood advice centre in Manchester providing face-to-face legal advice and support to residents.

Advice and Volunteer Manager

Full-time (35 hours pw)

Salary: £29,636 to £31,371 per annum

This is a permanent post, subject to funding

We are recruiting an Advice and Volunteer Manager to join our team to lead on managing the operations of our charity. You will work alongside the charity Manager, a small advice team and a growing team of volunteers to deliver an effective and valued advice service in North Manchester.

CHAC is a busy advice service working within a diverse community. We want to recruit somebody with experience of delivering an accessible social welfare advice service as well as experience of managing or supervising advice staff and/or volunteers. This is a full time post. However, we would consider splitting the job into a part-time staff management post and a part-time volunteer management post.

Community Information Worker

Part-time (28 hours per week worked over 4 days)

Salary: ££22,462 pro rata (£17,969 actual)

This is a permanent post, subject to funding

We are recruiting Community Information Worker to join our team delivering advice to the diverse community within North Manchester. This is an important post within Cheetham Hill Advice Centre. You will often be the first member of staff to welcome people to the building and you will have a key role in finding out what help people need and then helping people to resolve problems on the day or else directing them to the correct person within the charity.

You will work alongside the advisors and volunteers in our drop-in advice sessions. We want to recruit somebody with a basic understanding of welfare benefits, housing and debt, the ability to work well in a team and the ability to research and interpret information from authoritative sources.
